Laos officially the Lao People's Democratic Republic, is a landlocked country in Southeast Asia, bordered by Burma (Myanmar) and China to the northwest, Vietnam Laosto the east, Cambodia to the south, and Thailand to the west. Laos’s total population in 2007 is around 6,677,534 million up to date.

Laos’s main industries includes copper, tin, gold, and gypsum mining; timber, electric power, agricultural processing, construction, garments, tourism, cement and few of the agriculture products includes rice, sweet potatoes, vegetables, corn, coffee, sugarcane, tobacco, cotton and tea.

In Laos, rice dominates the agriculture sector, with about 80% of the land area is used for growing rice. Due to this, agriculture sector still accounts for half of Laos’s GDP and provides 80% of total employment to the people..
